Australia’s largest coal-fired power station

There is a significant cost to keep Australia’s largest coal-fired power station open beyond the 2025 closure date.  However, it is unclear how much NSW taxpayers can expect to keep the ageing generator open.

A review of NSW’s energy transition plan recommended Eraring, Australia’s largest coal-fired power plant remain open beyond 2025, with the last coal-fired power station expected to close in 2051.
